Sundays are checkout day and all guests depart the Island at 10am sharp (not Fiji Time). This gives us just a short window to prepare for the next group arriving at 11:30am. However most flights don’t depart till later in the afternoon or evening, meaning there’s time to soak up the final hours of tropical paradise. Here are our top tips for spending your Sunday…
Book a Boat Charter & Extend Your Time on the Water
The Mitaia Rua and Cobalt can be chartered by Namotu guests on Sundays (pending availability). We recommend arranging this ahead of time to secure your spot. We offer half day and full day options as well as direct transfers to Denarau so you can skip the drive from the Marriott to Nadi.
For larger groups, we recommend our friends at Coral Cats. They can fit up to 25 guests on their catamarans and provide lunches and a drop off to Denarau.
Local Shops, Day Spa and Denarau
The Projects Collective is our favourite surf shop with arguably the best coffee and cocktails in Nadi plus a range of local artisanal products. The perfect option for those guests with afternoon flights wanting a quick way to stock up on presents and a tasty drink before the airport. There’s also the award-winning Island Surf Day Spa offering massage and treatments close by so you can shuttle between the two. Arrange this option with the driver but we recommend booking treatments ahead.
Just a kilometre down the road, Denarau has a range of shops and restaurants including our favourite, Cardo’s. Stopping by here is a good way to spend a few hours. Alternatively you could book a day room at one of the many resorts, including Sofitel, Sheraton, Hilton or Westin. Please book hotels in advance due to limited availability. You are welcome to dine at these resorts and in most cases, use the facilities, even if you’re not a guest.

The Marriott at Momi Bay
A highly convenient option, especially for those guests with late flights. Our standard checkout boat takes guests to the Marriott so it’s simple to spent the day relaxing by the pool, enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants or book a day room (we recommend doing this well in advance). You will confirm a pickup time with our transfer team, usually around 5:30pm/6pm for those of you on late evening flights eg those to LAX.
Your Flight Home
When it’s to head to the Airport, you’ll meet the luggage truck and collect your bags before checking in. The Airport has Duty Free shopping, Burger King, woodfired pizzas, bar and free Wifi. Many Namotu guests flying home to the USA choose to depart on Saturday afternoons, meaning they skip the Sunday. This is a good option if you’d rather spend all of your time on Namotu.
