Snorkelling & SCUBA Diving around Namotu Island

Snorkelling

Coral reefs surround Namotu Island and provide incredible snorkelling with water depth only 4-8 feet; lots of light and easy conditions for any level. We supply snorkelling equipment so you don’t need to bring a thing! Enjoy a casual swim around Namotu or visit the giant clams, they’re spectacular!

SCUBA & SNUBA

If you’re after something deeper, there are over 30 excellent SCUBA and SNUBA dive sites in close proximity to Namotu. We engage a third party dive company to take you out and you’ll be picked up straight from Namotu and escorted to your chosen dive site. If you’d like to do your open water dive course while in Fiji, we recommend completing the Padi online course and a medical clearance before you arrive so you can simply complete the practical component across a couple of half-days.

If you’re already open water certified don’t forget your PADI or SSI card. There’s no need to book before you travel but please give our reception 24 hour notice prior to your dive and remember that SCUBA and SNUBA is not included in the Namotu package.

Free diving

If you’re interested in learning to free dive either for water safety such as big wave surfing or just to enhance your spearfishing or snorkelling, then you can book an instructor. Please enquire before your trip.

Spearfishing around Namotu

Not only do the reefs surrounding Namotu offer beautiful corals and delicate fish species, they are also home to species such as Spanish mackerel, Bluefin trevally and cod that are excellent spearfishing targets. Many of our surf guides including Fijian guide, Ulai are skilled spearfishermen who are happy to show you their spots or guide you through your first spearfishing experience. If you’re an experienced spear fisherman we advise bringing your own gear along.
