Tuesday 15th of July started off with a high tide in the morning….
We could feel the energy of the short-period swell had arrived. Lefts was a solid 6-8 feet, Pools a ripable 5-6, and Cloudbreak was 8-10ft range and consistently hitting on the first ledge with occasional barrels on the second.

Light trades had started to kick in mid-morning and after seeing spray off the back of big walls wrapping around Tavarua, we had a feeling that something special may be starting to unfold.
Upon arrival we were greeted by lightly groomed offshores and some incredible double to triple overhead waves. It wasn’t uncommon to see two to three barrels on a single wave and the atmosphere in the lineup was incredible.

Six hours later we returned to Namotu burnt and dehydrated with chapped lips but the guests wouldn’t have had it any other way. Three of Namotu’s regulars were calling it the session of their lives. One Fijian guide called it the biggest, most perfect Restaurants he’d ever seen. You certainly won’t hear me complaining!
