Api, our Fijian surf guide and boatman, is only 18 but already he’s making his mark on Namotu and Fijian surfing with his character and natural ability.
Growing up on Fiji’s Coral Coast, Api learned to surf when he was about 10 years old and started competing not long after. Now at 18 he has already travelled to Japan, the USA and Samoa to compete for his country and is in the running for Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Here on Namotu he spends all day on, in and around the water inspiring our guests with a big smile and plenty of local knowledge. We’re excited to see Api’s progress and support his journey wherever it takes him.
